Hsg test results. - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

Well today was the big day I had my HSG test and I have to say it wasn't something plessant. My tubes are all clear YAY! Now that I am in the clear we will start working on DH believe me he has alot of issues some I don't think can be fixed but we will see.
On the HSG I had heard some bad stories and some said it was easy my opion it wasn't easy at all but it wasn't terrible either so somewhere in between. The only problem I had was after I was really faint feeling and I vomited a couple times (but that was due to the dizzyness and nerves) My stomach cramps like bad AF cramps but they pass at the moment only my left overy is touchy but they said it would be like that a day or two but it will pass.

At what point in your TTC did you need to take the Hsg test?? Did you ever take the cycle day 3 test?? I did, and my DH got a semen test. Everything for us came back "normal". I have an appt. with my gyno at the end of this month, I guess to just discuss more things. We are at the year mark right now for TTC

So I guess, what I"m asking is who told you to go get that test? A gyno, or did you just to reguest it yourself....but I dont think a person can to that without a referal.

krzygrrl.... I have been ttc going on 7yrs now I am label with infertility(it sucks) anyway we have done SA several times now and I have had several test myself.
On the HSG my R.E. and I have been talking about it for a few months now and we just went ahead and did it. I pretty much figured I was good I have been doing BBT for awhile now (couple of years) so I know that I O every month so my tubes must be open and in working order. We know my DH has low motilty and a low count we was wanting to check and cross out any and everything that could be wrong with me before we go to work on my DH problems.
As far as having it done talk to your dr about it bring it up in your next visit that you want to have an HSG and check your tubes. Since you have been TTC for going on a year now and DH SA is good he might agree with you and schedule the test.
Have you had bloodwork done? Have your prolactin levels checked that is a problem I ran into mine is high and check your thyroids again mine is borderline but it is something I would never of asked for if someone hadn't mentioned it to me. Ask your dr about doing a progestrone check on CD 21 to make sure that you are O'ing.
That is all I can thing of at the moment if you have any questions just ask I have been doing this long enough I might know the answer.Maybe my experience with all this will help someone out with bringing home a baby.
