Last vaginal ultrasound showed a few uterine polyps, one supposedly "large."
The fertility doc didn't seem too worried and didn't say I had to have them removed immediately, but, reading about them online and researching is making me think they should be removed, especially since I've been having very abnormal bleeding and TTC.
I know they do hysteroscopy to remove but I was wondering if they will do this with local anesthesia? I have seen a few articles that say they can do it but most women opt for general.
I have never had general and really do not want to do it if it can be avoided. I know it's no big deal to some people but it terrifies me.
Anyone had experience with removing polyps and local?
This thread was from over a year ago....
but, I did wind up having the polyps removed. I tried to do it first as an in office procedure and they used no anesthesia at all. It was horrible pain, and they were unsuccessful in removing them.
I then had a surgical hysteroscopy in the hospital with full general anesthesia. I was scared, but, it wasn't so terrible and I was really glad to have them removed. I recommend the hysteroscopy is you want them removed.
Hope this helps!
