Hi, me and my partner are TTC for the first time and I have irregular periods, I was wondering if there was any advice you could offer me. I have a very active sex life (we've not been using protection for a year but only just decided to TTC)

There are many others here that will attest to this: BBT - chart your cycles.
It is amazing what you learn about your body through doing it. It can be frustrating, but since you have irregular periods, it will help you out in the long run.

Also buy the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility - it has a wealth of information and answers many of the questions you most likely have.

Welcome! I second Nalphee's suggestions of BBT and reading the book. You may also want to check in with your ob/gyn; TTC for 1 year without birth control and no pregnancy suggests you should have a workup. Especially now that you are TTC. Notime like the present to find out what is what
