Need Help With Prometrium - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

Hello fellow IF friends! This is my first thread, so I'm not too keen on the abbreviations. I've had 2 m/c's within the past yr, and I'm pretty sure I had one a year b4 that, I just though it was a heavy AF.

I'm 35, my DH is 45. Ofcourse his age has nothing to do with my IF issues, according to the doctors. My ovaries are old.

I have 2 DS's that are 15 & 17, and well, I guess I'm trying to start over with my new DH of 1.5yrs!

I just started Prometrium today. My OB told me to start it 3 days after ovulation & BD day. My question is, what's the best way to insert these pills??? I'm suppose to do 2 2x a day, 400mg total. I did my first 2 this morning, and now I'm tired. Do the pills come out a little on the underwear?? When can I look forward to?? I'm sorry, I just DHAC about this stuff.

This message board is really amazing. I can relate to so many of these stories, and it's just so awesome to know I'm not in the boat by myself! If anyone can help, that would be great. Good luck to all your beautiful women!

Hi Kim and welcome I havent actually used prometrium so I can't really answer your question, if you go over to the Infertility boards Im sure there are some ladies that will be able to help you. I usually post over there but started out here on the TTC boards so often pop in here to see how everyone is doing. I used prometrium back in February after my second round of IUI. Same as u, I started 3 days after treatment. Insert them just like a tampon and they are absorbed by the vaginal tissue. You may have slight discharge, which is normal. I didn't notice any side effects at all, so I can't speak to that. Good Luck!
