Pregnancy after miscarriage - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this board, and I'd like to know if anyone has had a similar experience, or any advice. I have a son who will be turning 1 on May 7, so I'm pretty sure there's no actual problem with me conceiving. I had a miscarriage on January 22 and since then dh and I have been trying for another. I know it's only been 3 months (which isn't very long, especially compared to some of you ladies), but it feels like much longer! I'm curious if there could be any link between the miscarriage I suffered, and having a tougher time conceiving. The reason I wonder is because with ds I concieved the first month we tried, and with the other baby as well. So having to actually "try" is a little new to us. I really know my cm, and have been using that to tell me when I'm fertile and when I'm not. I'm also still breastfeeding ds, but I have begun the weaning process--I've heard that can interfere with conceiving again. Any thoughts?

Every pregnancy is different. I conceived the first month with my son. I got pregnant the second time the third month of trying. It ended in miscarriage at 5 weeks. I am now in my fourth month of trying since the miscarriage. Breastfeeding can affect your ovulation and in turn, make it harder to get pregnant. I got tired of TTC controlling my life, so we are using the "it will happend when its meant to happen" approach. Good luck!

i really think its different everytime. while trying to concieve our first I was pregnant 3 times in a six month period ( we lost our first two) and now trying for our second it has been 9 months and nothing yet, so dont let 3 months get you to down normal healthy couples can take up to a yr to get prego
