What's the the difference between the fertility monitors and the ovulation predictor kits?

I believe fertility monitors track your whole cycle, so you test everyday and it will tell you low/medium/or high chance of becoming pregnant. The prediction (I believe) is a one time test that tells you if you are ovulating or not (more like yes or no rather than low/medium/high)

I'd love to get one, but can't justify spending the €149. I just haven't got the money right now, think I'll stick to my digital OPK, that's expensive enough at €37 per month. Maybe if I'm unsuccessful the next two cycles then I'll invest x

Yes it does, I don't know how much OPK cost but the clear blue monitor is around $200 and then you have to buy the strips! The strips cost about $40 every month the first 3 months (since you are testing everyday) then about the 4th month you start test every 10 days or so and it levels out to $40 every three months. (About $13 a month) Honestly, we already had a monitor because I got off the BC pill and decided we didn't want to use condoms all the time....my sister-in-law uses it for BC so we decided to just do that (DH did NOT want children at this point in time..about a year ago) Well, over time I ran out of strips and just didn't get around to buying more (DH didn't care as much and thought $40 was a lot of money if you don't really care about getting pregnant) and so I have to actually start BACK on it....he has convinced me to give it 2 more months (including this cycle) before I run out and buy the strips for it....anyways.....so yeah the moniter definately costs more.
