Cycle Charting - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

Hello,
My dh and i have been trying to conceive for over a year. We're struggling with my irregular cycles, but for 4 months straight I have been regular like clockwork. Starting this month I'm going to chart my temp and cm daily. My question is: Usually the first day of my period is nothing more than light spotting. So is that the first day of my period or is the day where its a consistent flow the first day?

I dont know if this is correct but I usually note the spotting but dont consider it a period til the next day or later that day until the flow is a bit more well, there. Did that help at all? I've been charting for about 5 months now.
