Cervical Position - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

Ok so this is going to sound weird or stupid or something. I always read about knowing what the position of your cervix is. I dont know how to tell. I have researched and researched and nothing really says exactly what I'm looking for it to say. Maybe I cant reach my cervix to tell how it feels and where it is. I know where it is located. I just cant seem to find it. See weird or stupid right? Does anyone keep track of their cervix?

Don't worry about the question, we are allowed to ask anything here which is great.

Unfortunately, it's the one thing I don't check yet, I can't bring myself to do it. But if you haven't already read "Taking charge of your fertility" I urge you to, because it has all the information in there xx

Your cervix changes like the wind...almost literally. It will be one way in the morning, and one way in the night.its always changing. The ONLY change that was the same for me in both of my pregnancies (at the very beginning) was that the cervix felt very small compared to the uterus, smaller than normal, and tightly closed. BUt in a few weeks that all changed, and it went back to changing every day..now that I am 14 weeks preg. I cant find it anymore...so I quit trying...lol.
YOu will be doing MUCH better if you just judge your cervical fluid and forget the cervix all together...

I started checking my cervix every day at the same time in the shower a while ago. I hope this isn't too much info, but I just put my leg up on the shower ledge and put two fingers in. Make sure you're hands are clean too! It's also a good way to check your mucus. I did it for a number of months. If you feel it enough, you get the idea of what's going on. When you're not ovulating it feels firm (more like your nose). When you're getting ready it gets softer. The position kind of went up and down a bit, but the firmness was more apparent. I'm not sure how useful it is. I was mostly checking the mucus to see if it was good. And then I was just doing it around the time of ovulation to confirm things were good.
