Did we bd on the right days? Any hope? - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

Hi. AF is as regular for me as you can get for a person... 28 days, ovulation signs during the right time, etc. I started AF on Sat. Jan 24. I'm using the opk sticks (which we used before) and got a positive sign on Friday, Feb 6th (cd 14). Well, we bd'd on Wed. Feb 4th (cd 12) without any problem. We bd'd again on Friday Feb 6th but it wasn't very successful

I made the mistake of mentioning ovulation and a baby prior to bd'ing and that was all she wrote. He wasn't able to ejaculate. (can I say that?). Now, according to my calculations, I definitely ovulated on Sat. Feb 7th.
Is there any way I could be possible, only bd'ing on CD 12?? thanks.

I'm am in the EXACT same position as you. I got my positive on Sunday 1st Feb, and we BD'd that night, attempted bd'ing on the Tuesday 3rd Feb night and like you, it didn't work out (hard not to be annoyed) then I O'd on Wednesday. So our timeframes are the very same.

I mean technically we do have some hope, but not as good as if our other attempts had been successful. I've heard of people getting pregnant 5 and 6 days before O, so I guess we'll just have to be patient and see if the spermies are super survivors. It's hard though, I'm 6dpo today and it's not an easy wait xx

So sorry Elainee! What's crazy about my situation is that the first time (DD is 2), we had no problem . I went off the pill in August and was pg in September (I don't mean to sound selfish). I just naturally assumed this would be simple. Technically, it's only month #3, but Friday night really frustrated me. Bet I won't make the mistake of mentioning baby, pg, ovulating, etc. next time we're attempting the bd, lol.

Elainee, you actually sound like you have a much better chance than I do. You got your positive and then bd'd right?? When is AF due? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Hi,

I don't have any children yet, but I am ttc No 1 since last April. I didn't think it would be this hard either. I got pregnant on my second cycle of trying (May), but it ended in a miscarriage at 6.5 weeks (July). I really didn't think it would take this long again to get pregnant. When I did get pregnant it was from BD'ing the night of my positive OPK, but I O'd either the next day or the day after with that. This time I seems I didn't O until 3 days after which is very unusual, you're supposed to O within 48 hours of your positive OPK.

So I'm just a bit confused myself. Last month we BD'd perfect timing, the night of the positive and the night after, still a BFN, I think it's in the lap of the Gods really.

I think our chances are the same seeings as we both have a three day window. AF is due I think 18th or 19th, so we'll see. I'm sure it will happen soon for both of us xx
