ok, how soon after taking the test can you get evap line appear?
I know they are greyish with no colour, but how can you tell if the line is greyish or pink when they are that light?

If it's super light and you think it might be pink, just test again in 3-4 days. The tests are most accurate a week after your missed period. If you get a super light pink/positive and then a few days later it's negative, it's possible it may have been a chemical pregnancy.
