Anyone taking Metformin and TTCing? - Trying to Conceive (TTC) Message Board

Hi everyone,
We have been TTC for a while now. Last year we suffered a miscarriage and and ectopic. The ectopic resulted in the lose of my left tube.

So currently my cycles are all wacky. I have not had a period since June

and I am not pregnant. My doctor tried Provera to start my cycle and nothing. Then he put me on birth control and STILL nothing.

So now he has started me on Metformin, a daibetic drug, to make me ovulate. I was wondering if anyone has had this course of treatment. Thanks for all your in put. Also are there any success stories with Metformin?

My husband and I ttc for 2 years then I was put on metformin and started having a normal cycle for the first time in my life. Within months I was pregnant. Sadly, I miscarried at 7 wks but I am a strong believer of metformin. I still take it- ttc over 3 years now. My cycles are still perfect. Good luck!

Hi, I'm starting my third month of metphormin to help get preggers again. Took it for several months when we had our son, now trying for @ 2 and using it agian, will start clomid in Jan to help me ovulate

Thanks for responding. I do have another question. I have very sore nipples. Is this a side effect of the Met?

I've not had that problem with the Met. Interesting though
