Most people coming off birth control have wacky cycles for a couple of cycles. By using condoms until you have a normal cycle gives your doctor a better idea of when you got pregnant when you do get pregnant. This makes it easier for him to give you a better due date and so on. It also makes it easier when it comes to timing ultrasounds and tests. Sometimes if one doesnt know when one became pregnant it can make it hard to know when to run what tests until. It can also add stress to you because some tests can come back funny and then you have to have more tests when nothing was wrong at all. Just a simple thing of the test run at the wrong time.
Also just becuase you always have had normal cycles doesnt mean something hasnt changed in the mean time. Your best and safest bet is to just follow what your doctor says. It just means delaying your ttc for two months. Also if your cycles do turn out funny it could save you some time in the long run. Because irregular cycles only add stress you dont need. And when ttc the less stress the better.
