Stones, what treatment? - Urology Message Board

I was recently hospitalized and the doctors accidentally found a small kidney stone. I've had 2 years of irritable bladder and infections. I have Fibromyalgia, just had brain surgery followed by a pulmonary embolism and had no patience with the urologists at the hospital, I booted them out of my room. Now that I'm a free woman, I was wondering what the typical treatments were for kidney stones. Anything new out there? Information is appreciated, I don't have a clue!

I don't know about new - or how frequently its able to be used but they can break them up using ultrasound. But most people I know just have to go through the pain of passing them!

Pain is nothing new in my life but I don't think this one is going to pass out on its own. Obviously it's been sitting there causing problems for quite some time! How do they break it up? What is the procedure like? Does it hurt?
