Post Catheter problems - I've got a question

I just had a lithiotripsy yesterday to break up my 1cm kidney stone, that was stuck in the kidney. After waking up I had pretty bad urine retention so they put a catheter in so I could go. Unfortunately I was not asleep for it (ouch), but obviously there was pain in urinating afterward (actually it hurt to pee even before they put it in). Now when I had my lithio last year, I don't remember it stinging so much when I pee'd this long after the procedure (just about 24 hours now). Or could it be from putting so much strain on the inside of shaft of the penis (from the catheter)? And if so, when should it bounce back to normal. Any thoughts anyone?
