may5141 Newbie Join Date: Jan 2003 Location: Seattle, WA, USA Posts: 1	uti medicine reations? I went to the doctors office for a Urinary Tract infection, and I was given Sulfamethoxazole to treat it. However before I came into the doctors office, I went to go buy an over the counter Methenamine for an antibacterial and to relieve the pain. I was reading on the internet that there could be possible reactions when using both of the drugs together, so how long should I wait until I start taking the Sulfa drug? Should I just continue taking the Methenamine?
