Unhappy Can't stop....

Over the past 5 days I have had problems w/ urination. I will urinate, and within a few minutes I feel the urge to urinate again. I have also been waking about 3 times a night to urinate. I only have small amounts of urine sometimes, and larger quanitities the next. I do not have any pain or burning. I just simply go frequently and do not feel that my bladder has emptied. What could this be?

Are you male or female? If male it could be a prostate problem.

could be any number of things..go get checked for a urinary tract infection..this is done by you providing a urine sample (first one of the morning) to your dr and they will test for any type of infection/bacteria that may be present..they are usually easily treatable by taking antibiotics for a few days

I have been going through the same thing for the past month. I thought it was a UTI and have taken 4 different antibiotics. It gets a little better but never completely goes away. I plan on seeing my dr. this week as he said further test would be needed. Any advise would be helpful .

to scmom, if no infection shows up in the urine, their probably never was an infection
the med imipramine, in the small bedwetting dose often calms the bladder and stops the burning

take some bicarb soda which alters the urine PH and see if this helps

thanks hry33...there is no burning...just the urge to go after just going! I haven't gone back to the dr. yet but will try to fit it in soon. It seems like it's calmed down some but not completely gone. I had a problem urinating early in my second pregnancy (2002) and took FLOMAX to calm spasms. The uroligist never really seemed to pinpoint the problem. Maybe this is related somehow ....
