My urine has a very strong smell. Several months ago I had a UTI but took antibiotics. I am not having any pain nor do I have frequent urination. Is this something that I should be concerned with. Also, my urine at times appears cloudy.
Hello. Are you drinking enough water? Have you been drinking/eating the same item each day? If you have, try decreasing the amt & increasing water intake. Using any meds? Any burning? If it doesn't go away, you may wish to vst the dr. Hope this helps. M
Well, normally cloudy urine and strong smelling urine signal an infection. I had one a couple of years ago and had no idea I even had one until my doctor told me...I didn't have any symptoms except cloudy and strong smelling urine.
Are you by any chance dieting? Many people on the Atkins diet will have your symptoms from all the protein they're ingesting. Different foods can cause your urine to smell strong, such as asparagus, but it's the cloudiness that would concern me. If you haven't changed your eating pattern or started any new medicine or vitamins, you may want to have your doctor do a quick check. Urine smell isn't usually something to worry about, but cloudiness is as it could be blood if you do indeed have an infection.
