Unhappy Sore left testicle

Hi,

I have had a sore left tesicle for the last 2 or 3 weeks. I have put on some weight lately and was wondering if my underware or jeans were the cause - perhaps they were two tight. This week I tried wearing loose pants, but things havent got better. I checked the surface for lumps and I dont see any. The testicle is swollen and slightly red, but its not that painful - just a little bit. Obviosly any pain in this department is a worry.

I'm 23 years of age.

What might be the causes, and what should I do? Should I be worried?

Thanks,

Max.

It could be epididymitis, for one, an infection often (but certainly not always) caused by untreated chlamydia. It might also be a fungal infection or some other thing. I suggest you see a doctor for possible treatment of whatever infection you may have.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm a virgin.

Im wearing no underwear and baggy tracksuit bottoms this week end, and things are much better. I've only been sore today on the odd occasion...

Definitely call your doctor. While I know it is a bit embarrassing for guys to talk about that area, it is not something to mess with. Please call your doctor and get it checked out.
