Question helping two year old with vit. C?

i have been reading on here how vit. C and cranberry juice helps with UTI's and bladder infections. Does that work for children too? my 2 year old gave a urine sample and there was pus in it so we did the antibiotic thing and it went away. i think it may be back but the doctor said the urine was clean so she is going to do a culture on it. anyway, back to my question. is it safe to give a two year old alot of vit. C and cranberry juice and if so how much is safe for her to help prevent another infection? i really do appreciate any input anyone may have. this is my first time ever dealing with something like this and i hate to see my baby feeling so ucky.

You need to ask your child's dr. this question. You also need to consider that loading her system with high amounts of vitamin C and cranberry juice, the pH of her urine will decrease which in itself may cause irritation on her bladder lining, causing burning and discomfort in the absence of bacteria. If a child (or an adult) is getting frequent UTIs, the underlying cause need to be unveiled.

my daughter had frequent bladder infections when she was 2. vit c was part of the solution. a childrns
urologist suggested it with the cranberry juice and
it helped. plus she had to go on a once a day antibiotic dose for a few months to maintain. luckily they seem to get better as they get older. Good luck
