Hi everyone again, I was just wondering if anyone has used Cipro for a Kidney infection. I have one right now and i was on Bactrim before, but when i went to the doctor my urine results still werent good. This time he put me on Cipro. Is this a good medicine, and if anyone has used it before how long did it take for the infection to clear up.
Cipro is a very good antibiotic, I am currently taken it also for a UTI. As a parapalegic I get UTI's about 2-4 times a year. Any other antibiotic the Dr. normally gives a 2-3 week prescribtion for, but with Cipro it normally takes about 3-4 days.
What is the usual prescribed amount for a bacterial infection of the prostate? I was given a prescription for 250mg tablets, three times per day (total daily amount: 750mg). I was told to take this dosage for 14 days. The pain has decreased but I still have some pain over my pubis or symphysis.

I've had at least 8 UTI's since the age of 22 (and I'm 33 now) and every single time I've taken Cipro. I did have on a few occasions where the infection did manage to get to my kidney's. (I get back pain when this happens)
