Post Right Side Varicocele - Scared!

I have a right side Varicocele, which, from what I have seen on the net, is a bad thing. Having a Varicocele on the right side is very rare. It mostly happens on the left or both sides. I have been having a lot of pain in my groin and right leg. So since my leg is hurting also, does it mean i could have kidney problems (cancer, bockage). I will see my doc in a week, but still very freaked out. Not only do I have to wait a week, then i have wait even more time for tests (Last I checked the waiting list for CAT scans here is over a month). I hate waiting, it gives you time to sit around and think the worst. Any ideas?

What is varicocele? I've had pain on the left side down through the very top portion of my left leg.

Thank you!

I realised I had a varicocele(left side) when I was 16yrs, had the operation at 21yrs, the operation caused the veins in that testicle to go black and blue. The doctor said it would disappear over the next few weeks. 2yrs later it is still there and as big as ever, doctor said there is nothing more they can do, now 2yrs later I have no medical aid and on top of all this my right testicle has been aching and highly sensitive for the last few months although there seems to be nothing physically wrong with it. Anyone else experiencing a similar problem or have any suggestions.

i have a variocele on my left, i think its getting bigger seeing as not only are the veins twisted all around the testicle, i can feel them up at the top of the bag on the leftside where the bag joins the body.

so.. i think i will go doctors... but i am trying to plck up courage..

i first noticed it when i was about 15
i am 17 now...

who reccommends i should get surgery?

as for the starter of topic.. i think varioceles are bad on either side.. its just uncommon to see on right..

Guitardude, I suggest you pluck up the courage and go. Read my story (John Doe) plus the from what I've heard the longer you leave it the bigger it becomes and the harder it is to remove(surgically). There is no way in hell it's suddenly just going to disappear.

Im 14 turning 15 this year in july, & i have a huge vericocele in my left testicle. Its about 6 cm from the bottom to the top and almost completely covers my left testicle.
Ive been to the doctor a few times and to the urologist and a specialist once, they all said i should get an operation but that it wasnt serious or large enough to be serious yet, but since then it has grown alot and im getting worried. Im going to get an operation this July, and im worried if there is any side affects? I read in one of your posts above that your veins went black in your testicles after the operation...how much chance do you think is there of that happening?
It hurts a fair bit, and i can ALWAYS feel it there...it makes me so uncomfortable and i cant wait to get it off.
but im really worried, because every post ive seen about an operation for vericocele's has said there has been some bad after affects.
Im only 14 and i dont want to have to deal with this crap already.
Someone please reply!!!

Hello. My name is Chad. I also have a large varicocele in my left side. Surgery is allways an option, but if you havn't heard of a new procedure called VARICOCELE EMBOLIZATION, then you need to check it out. It may be a better option for you. It's an out-patient procedure and is virtually painless. If you want some info on it go to www.varicoceles.com I'm thinking about having the procedure sometime this summer.

I am 15 and I had my operation about 2 months ago. I am suggesting you to have the operation immediately, the more time you waste, the bigger the possibility there is for you to be infertile. There is absolutely no pain, and after 3 weeks, you ar as good as new, dont be afraid!
