What type of specialists have you seen? Gynecologist? Urologist? Are you doing all the things they've told you to do like drinking tons of water and taking all your medication? Are your parents involved in helping you get medical care? I can understand why you are feeling depressed, but you shouldn't feel like a burden. If you are still sick, you need to be seen again by your doctor.
I've seen an urologist and many other other doctors. NO one can seem to find anything wrong with me and my parents are deciding to take me to a chinese herbalist. Im only drinking water and plenty of it because other liquids pain me. im still not cured yet, but i feel better than all the other times i have uti. Thanks for your reply though; i'm happy that there's actually someone who cares. My dad cares a lot about me, but my mom always asks me what's wrong with you?!?!? (in a mean way) That's why i feel bad and annoyed sometimes....
I'm so sorry for your pain. Your mom probably just doesn't understand because it hasn't happened to her. If your parents are interested in taking you to a Chinese herbalist, maybe you could ask them about acupuncture. I've never had it, but I know a few people who've said it worked to relieve pain when nothing else did.
Also, you can buy Uristat or AZO Standard (phenazopyridine HCL) over the counter at the pharmacy, in the aisle where the PMS meds and tampons are located. It's a urinary tract pain reliever that turns your urine bright orange, but really helps with the pain. My doctor said it's not harmful in any way.
I'm curious...did your urologist rule out interstitial cystitis? You are pretty young to have this, but I'm sure it's not unheard of.
Thank you, SRMom, for your support and comforting words. As i told you that i was seeing a chinese herbalist, i had been given remedies to heal me. Luckily, it looks like it's starting to actually heal because this is the first time i felt so confident and great about myself. I actually feel like it's starting to go away and this terrifying nightmare is starting to fade away. I dont think that all the things you've suggested would work because i've tried them all. I thank you once again for your support and i wish you and your family a happy healthy life. -Best wishes.
