Kidney pain, no UTI symptoms? Help!

Hello, I need some help here. My doctor diagnosed me with a UTI after I explained to him I was having severe pain in my kidneys. He took a urinalysis and told me that he thought I had a UTI and not a kidney infection although I've had both in the past and this seemed more to me like a kindey infection than a UTI. I was not experiencing any of the symptoms I normally have with a UTI such as frequent urge to urinate, pain/burning during urination and general discomfort. Simply put, all I had was severe kidney pain, everything else seemed normal. He put me on Cipro 500 mg, two times a day. While the pain lessened, it is still there. It hurts more when I take a deep breath, laugh, cough, etc. I have been on Cipro for going on 5 days now and I am still in pain. Is this normal? Is it possible I am suffering from kidney pain due to some other condition? Any input would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!
