Re: Intersitial Cystitis

My wife has had IC for most of her life (she is only 24) an she is currently doing the Rescue Instills and they are helping her. She has tried just about every treatment option available, including a failed InterStim implant and she swears by the Rescue Instills.

Re: Intersitial Cystitis

Hi,

I just happened to read this thread. I have bladder problems, with pain and have been going to a uro dr. Could you please tell me what a rescue instill is? I think that my ureters (tubes to bladder) were injured when my "other" uro dr. pulled out my stents! Terribly, terribly painful.

And what is cystitis?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Wannabe

Re: Intersitial Cystitis

I would recommend seeing a urogynecologist if you are a female with IC. Have you ever tried physical therapy for the pelvic floor? I have heard it can do remarkable things to help with the symptoms of IC.

Hi Kdlp.....I have had I.C, for 30 years. Cheer Up!!Cause I'm living proof you can have a good life with this disease. Hard part is over as I had 14 doctors misdiagnose me untill the right one did. Dr. Lowell Parson,UC SanDiego has a research group. He instilled my bladder with elmiron, tinkered with the dose for weeks, untill they found the right dose and presto, I had good days>>>There is no one more knowgable in the U.S than Lowell Parsons, can you get to San Diego??I now live with diminished bladder capacity, getting up 4 or 5 times anight unless I take ditropan.Kdlp,Believe me, as I get older, I have now something worse!!Know it's hard to believe, but you can function with I>C. A word of caution---they wanted to remove my bladder and I declined and I am so grateful, the gals that had bladder removal are mostly invalids. Hang in there!!!blues310
