No Sensation to Urinate?

I've noticed for several months now that there are times that I don't feel like I need to urinate but I can feel that my bladder is full. I don't have a problem urinating its just that I don't have that sensation??? It doesn't happen all the time but often enough to notice it. Anyone heard of this before? I've heard of having to urinate alot or not being able to urinate but nothing like this before????

Re: No Sensation to Urinate?

My mother has the same issue which for her is very frustrating. We have been to the urologist and he does not seem to have a problem with it. He feels her bladder has sunk down and is restricting the outflow. Pls let me know if you do find out something.

Re: No Sensation to Urinate?

I think that is called urinary retention. You bladder doesn't want to empty. There could be several reasons, drug interactions, medications, diseases, dehyrdation..etc. I know of one which would be neurological.
I just want through urodynamics test yesterday where they x-ray the bladder during the process urinating. During the last phase I was suppose to without straining, urinate. Well, with running water..nothing happen. The she tried hand in warm water. Nothing happen. Fill bladder fuller still nothing. I was there an hour trying to go on my own without straining. I also couldn't tell when my bladder was filling. I have MS and urologist dx me with neruogenic bladder. I also dx with I.S.D. I see him on Friday for full results.

Also retaining urine can cause UTIs and also if not emptying will continue to fill and backup into your kidneys causes serious complications. I would see a doctor about it.

I hope you get correct answer to this problem soon.
