soda causing right side pain?

I've had lower right quadrant pain for a few years, steadily worsening. I quit drinking soda after a major abdominal surgery, but have started again having just 6-8 oz os at night. It seems that that is when the pain gets worse. It is localized in the area right around the hip bone and feels deep, thru to the lower right back side. Does this ring true to anyone else? I know, I know, quit drinking the soda, but I do want to know why it does this.

Re: soda causing right side pain?

Maybe gas pains from the carbonation. Is it diet soda? I think the Nutra Sweet causes problems. I had horrible bladder problems before giving up my diet soda. I drank a lot of it.
