I don't know what is going on but I have microscopic blood in my urine. I found that out a month ago. But in the last week my urine has been dark, it varies from dark yellow to orange and has a bad odor. I am not on medication. Today I have been going alot and getting pains in my back. There is no pain when I urinate but there is a dull ache. I have no fever but I feel warm to the touch and nausea. Sharp pains shoot down from my stomach into my legs. In my stomach it feels as though I am about to have my period. I feel tired and weak. Does anyone know what this could be? Should I go to the hospital right now?

Hopefully you have already seen a doctor for this since you wrote it on July 31st. If not, go to the emergency room immediately. Your description of pains in your back translates to me as kidney problem. Also, your description of blood in the urine translates to a kidney problem. A kidney problem can be the result of several things, but with the symptoms you have described it sounds like a kidney problem that is the result of an untreated urinary tract infection (UTI). This sounds like a really serious UTI to me. If they are left untreated they can cause a kidney infection which is very serious. Like I said before if you have not yet seen a doctor for this please go immediately.

I did go to the hospital that night and the next night and the night after that. They were thinking that it had something to do with a bowel problem that I had but I really dont think so. They had a surgeon come in and assess me also. While I was at the hospital they took more blood and tested my urine again. Still there was microscopic blood and my white blood cell count went up. I have also had low blood pressure and low heart rate. They put me on cipro but I am still having back pain and feeling nausea. I have been in bed since I wrote the first time. Still no fevers. Well ok the increased white blood cell count can signal that there is some type of underlying problem such as infection. On a less serious note it can be caused by taking certain medications and stress as well. Did they do an ultrasound to assess you for kidney stones at all while you were there? If your problems persist is there another hospital nearby you can go to? Sometimes it is good to get a second opinion. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
