Recovery after 2nd TURP ?

I had a Lisa laser TURP in mid-October. I chose this approach rather than the classic "roto-rooter" type because of the promise of a quick recovery. The procedure didn't work and I have been miserable since the procedure. I have to self-cath a few times per day. The surgeon told me the laser would support an easy recovery. He assured me I would be back to normal in 2 weeks - that was two months ago.

The 2nd surgery is suggesting a "roto-rooter" and is also promising a speedy recovery - my experience with the first surgery has me doubting any promise of recovery times and severity. This surgeon says the laser causes a delayed recovery and does more tissue damage than the electo-wire approach. This surgeon tells me I will be back to normal in 4 weeks.

So, I am caught between two surgeons, neither of whom, I suspect are telling me the whole truth.

Anyone out there with recent experience recovering from a TURP, especially a second TURP ?

I would really appreciate the input - I do not want to make another mistake !

Thanks.......
