You haven't stated whether it is a rigid or flexible cystoscope? I myself had the dreaded rigid scope 2 weeks ago. I'm 26 and like you was very very nervous about the procedure but more about the post-op experiences. To cut a long story short I had a urethrotomy to cut away a narrowing of my urethra (urethral stricture). I had a catheter in for 4 days.
The scope did not hurt at all (i was under general anaesthetic for it anyway) but in terms of post-op I found pain to be non-existant really. Just a dull ache in the stricture area. The catheter was more of an inconvenience than painful.
Do not worry, you'll be fine. It will only knock your ego a bit!
Ensure you follow your urologists requests pre-op. Give up smoking (if you do) as it helps with the healing process. Be prepared for an interesting first wee wee! Mine burnt a bit!
