| 18yo Male with UTI
Hello,
I am an 18 yo male and had a urinary tract infection a two days ago. I woke up in the middle of the night with frequency to urinate, small amounts of urine each time, and burning while urinating.
I went to the ER and was treated with a Rocephin shot, and prescribed two different antibiotics.
Those antibiotics were for STDs, and as I'm certain they are not STDs, my physician at the follow up recommended I stop one of the antibiotics. Today, I did a follow up and there was no more bacteria in my urine.
However, I still feel a subtle discomfort around my bladder-urethra. I recognize increased frequency to urinate, but it is not nearly as bad as before. It is a tingling sense of discomfort... I am not sure if this is normal irritation while recovering from UTI...
Additionally, I'm not sure what the UTI is from. I'm relatively healthy and can't think of what the cause is. I'm not sure if this is an indication of an underlying problem either.
