- time after TURP for your first intercourse
- how about erection?
- what was your feeling at orgasm compared to before surgery?
- any chance of seeing some sperm coming out?
Please share in general your experience and suggestions when/how you recovered fully your sexual life. Thank you.

I believe you get retrograde ejaculation...very little sperm ejected.

Correct. The sperm/semen goes into the bladder with retrograde ejaculation. If you decide to have children, doctors can get viable sperm from your bladder.
Good luck.

practically , it is irreversible.
They could do things to the bladder neck to tighten it up.
but i'd be too scared of the side effects or more problems again.
I had BNI done, the surgeon did not cut enough of the bladder neck,
so I still have normal ejaculation. I still have a bit of hesitation , maybe because of
this.
Question for you guys with retrograde ejaculation after turp :
How many seconds of hesitation do you have before starting urine flow ??
mine is anywhere from 5 seconds to 40 seconds after bladder neck incision with
a functioning bladder neck during ejaculation.
Thanks.

I didn't have T.U.R.P. , I had green light laser prostate surgery in Jan 2012 I'm very unhappy with mine, yes, I can pee better, but I paid a dear price for it. pleasFirst, retrograde ejaculation which my Urologist didn't tell me about, it's harder to get an erection now, the feeling at climax is a lot less pleasurable than before. I'l never have a normal sex again, wish I'd never had the surgery.

I am sorry hearing about this. Retrograde looks to be quite the norm as it is in my case after 3 months. I do not find it particularly bothersome though. Some say ejaculation might return with time but I think, from what I have read, it is exceptionally rare. What doctors say about your ED? Have you tried Viagra or equivalent? Which is your age? As people have ED in their 50s, 60s, 70s the problem might correlate to age rather that the TURP itself. They say if you have no ED before TURP you should not have it after at least in average. This information is very important for all us here. Let us know what you try and experiment! I think you need to fight and try to get back to a normal sexual function. Wish you heartily the best !
I was 56 at time of surgery, I'm 58 now. Urologists don't tell you everything about G.L. laser prostate surgery. They tell you how wonderful it is, but in my case the bad side was left out. This surgery can cause nerve damage, as in my case. ED talked about? that's not talked about much, sort of like the retro, I guess that's not considered to be very important, we men don't seem to get much sympathy from anyone these days. If I'm lucky my DR. or urologist will give me a 3 tablet sample of Cialis, it's so expensive I can't afford to buy it at the pharmacy. Yes, it will give you an erection, but it won't bring back any of the feeling I lost because of the surgery".
I had a TUIP in 2006, the doctor said no ejaculations for 6 weeks, he did warn me about retrograde several times before the surgery. Never happened, and have been quite pleased with the improvements in urine flow since.

Great and happy for you! However TUIP is much less invasive than TURP. In TURP retrograde looks to be the norm.

mug, did you have any problems with retention after ??
I have some retention problems that I never had before
after emptying a full bladder of 500 ml.
Its been about 2 months now.
The constipatiion is gone , but the urethra or bladder neck sure
feels sore some days, still

I've had a high pressure, low capacity bladder for about the past 50 years. The TUIP fixed the urine flow problem, but still have urgency issues and never void more than 8oz. Oh well, what are you gonna do?
