Is Prevnar 13 a live vaccine?
 

Just curious because my dad got it and now me and my mother are deathly ill. And my own doctor wants me to get the shot because I have lupus.

It is not a live vaccine and you cannot "catch" pneumonia from it. You and your mother both should definitely get the vaccine. She because she is older and you because of the lupus. You both are at risk for deadly side effects if you get pneumonia.

Well now, I just got the shot and I'm glad it isn't a live virus. My mother is worried she will get sick from me now.

It's actually not made from nor does it contain a virus at all. It protects against certain strains of bacterial pneumonia and like Titchou said, you won't get or transmit those strains of pnuemonia because you were immunized;
