vaccinations for visa

For a visa I need to get Meningitis and Yellow Fever vaccinations. Is it safe to do these at the same time or do I need to do one and then wait for awhile to see first if there are any adverse reactions? Also I have been advised to get the Hepatitis A vaccine though not required for the visa. Can this be done at the same time? Are there any risks to these vaccinations?

Re: vaccinations for visa

No vaccine is without risk. Do your research and act accordingly. Spacing them out would definitely be better, and I'd totally skip anything that isn't absolutely required.

Good luck.

Re: vaccinations for visa

It is ok to get all of the vaccines at one visit. The meningitis and Yellow fever are one shot each. The Hepatitis A vaccine requires three shots for full immunity at intervals of 0, two months later, four months later. Depending on your departure date, it would be good to receive as many of the Hep A shots as possible before leaving, and then complete the series when you return. It's also good to make sure your Tetanus (Tdap) and Measles (MMR) vaccinations are up to date.
