Re: why should i have a rubella vaccine twice
If you're in the U.S. the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine is typically given at 12-15 months of age and another dose at age 4-6 years. The immunity from the vaccine wanes over time so a booster vaccination is given. (Most schools and colleges require proof of two MMR or at least two Rubella vaccinations.) Immunity to Rubella is especially important to child bearing women.
