Pneumonia Vaccine reaction

When I was in the hospital for pulmonary emboli, they recommended that I get the pneumonia vaccine (although I'm only 54) since my lungs were already compromised. I agreed, and the RN administered the shot. As she vaccinated me, she mentioned that she "wasn't very good at this". Sure enough, she wasn't - she was pulling the needle back out as she was depressing the plunger...I'm sure that that was the reason I had a lump the size (no exaggeration) of a goose egg for weeks at the vaccination site. It has now been 2 months since the pneumonia vaccine was administered and I still have a pea-sized lump on my arm. Should I be concerned?

Re: Pneumonia Vaccine reaction

You could check with your doc the next time you're in but there shouldn't be anything to be concerned about at this point. You may always have that bump.
