Pneumonia Vaccine reaction
When I was in the hospital for pulmonary emboli, they recommended that I get the pneumonia vaccine (although I'm only 54) since my lungs were already compromised. I agreed, and the RN administered the shot. As she vaccinated me, she mentioned that she "wasn't very good at this". Sure enough, she wasn't - she was pulling the needle back out as she was depressing the plunger...I'm sure that that was the reason I had a lump the size (no exaggeration) of a goose egg for weeks at the vaccination site. It has now been 2 months since the pneumonia vaccine was administered and I still have a pea-sized lump on my arm. Should I be concerned?
