Question Suggestion?? (TrickyDick, you might be able to help me on this one!) :)

Ok, so I don't wake up nearly as early as I do when I work, on my days off. I get up at 5:45am on workdays, and start my 3 times a day vitamin routine at about 8:00am, after breakfast. I get up about 1pm on my days off, and start my 3 times a day vitamin routine at about 2pm! Is this ok that I am taking them at different times on different days? I try to take my vitamins with a meal, but sometimes I end up skipping a meal because I'm so busy. Any suggestions? By the way, I take a multi twice a day, pantothenic acid 3 times a day, msm 3 times a day, e once a day, st john's wort 3 times a day, and c once a day.

Thanks!!!!

-Sapphie

Hey Sapphie,
Gosh its nice to be noticed and have your handle posted. (please don't do that anymore).
You sound like your in charge..but you may be wasting a little money there. I'm all for vits and some mineral supps but my thoughts are that one good multi vit and one good multi mineral are good. B Complex is good and Zinc is good. C -thats fine. I took amino acids supps for a while and still do once in a while. You did'nt mention my pet peeves so I will.

Drink lots and lots of water...RO if you can afford it. Most RO machines here cost a quarter a gallon.

It sounds like your getting enough rest, you should, its very important.

The food thing is important too. In small ammounts, you can eat more than 3 meals a day just as long as you don't eat late in the evening.
My thoughts on food are lean red meat, fish, lean pork, chicken(no skin) not fried.
Lots of veggies, (I don't eat enough).
Fresh fruit and natural fruit juices, I like to take a juicer and make my own combinations.
No bread, except maybe wheat for toast in the am with your eggs and ham (if you can find it, which I can't lean bacon)
If you have to use oil to cook use canola oil. Butter in ok in very small ammounts.
Lots of peppers, hot and otherwise. Moderate on salt.

Stay away from (or eat VERY little) beans, pasta, pototoes. In other words starches.

No extra sugers, too much in prepared food anyway.

Get your exercise daily, I don't know what type work you do but everyone can benifit from walking. It also gets you outside where everyone needs to spend more time.
Light weight work and treadmill if your a homebody will help.
Gosh I guess thats more than you wanted, rambling is my speciality.
Peace

Gee! Sorry to mention your handle! You just seem like somebody who knows what they are talking about. I wouldn't have if I thought that was something that would bother you.
The reason I take B5 is that I have been discussing with the acne message board how this seems to help with oil reduction, and the all over clearing up of acne (there was an actual study done about this). MSM, because I have read that that may also help in the clearing up of acne (worth a shot, eh?). St. John's Worth....again...worth a shot, I suppose. I have been recently trying to take all that other good advice to heart, as I think it is about that time (or overdue!) to take preventative measures to keep myself from becomming an inactive mess of a person. So, in short, thank you for your advice!

Take care,

-Sapphie

Hey Sapphie,
Naw, its just a little embaressing to me I guess.. don't worry about it.
You have a good game plan, now the only problem is..is to stick to it.
Thats the hardest part, it took me several years to make the lifestyle changes I needed to. You can do it if you want it bad enough.
I'll tell you this, its easier when your younger, don't wait untill your middle aged and try it..its harder. The YMCA where I go is full of guys and girls trying to make up for all the years they abused and neglected themselves. Its kinda funny but then again not. Go for it..one thing, a B complex mixture of the b vits might be as good and would might be better. Don't forget your minerals. Zinc is important for mental health.
Peace

TickyDick, I LOVE your posts!

You give good, sound advice to the nutritionally challenged. I've got a question, though. As a nutritionist, I apparently have a different take on the benefits/detriments of beans, potatoes and other root(starchy) vegetables. I DEFINITELY agree about the pasta, breads and other processed starches. But, could you explain, please, your opposition to the natural/whole starchy foods? Thanks ahead of time.

Even though I drink at least a gallon of pure water everyday, I always forget to suggest people drink lots. WAY TO GO!!!!
Oh yeah, what's an RO machine?

peace back at ya!
