Question too much of a good thing?

Is it possible to overdose on any certain vitamin? I take prenatal vitamins because they are good for my hair. I also take vitamin C, iron, and hydroxycut Recently I added a b-complex and a multi-vitamin(one-a-day women's). I also wanna start taking flaxseed(which i know isn't a problem becasue it isn't a vitamin)I'm wondering if this is too many vitamins or minerals. It was WAY over 100% of many of them. I get about 300% of iron, and that is the main one I worry about.

It is wise to have your iron levels checked, and then u know exactly if u need to supp Fe or not. It is not likely that you will have any prob w/ a good quality vit. As for too much, the most common reactions with b-vita are niacin overdose which causes a red flush all over the body. Vit A is toxic in high doses. Selenium is toxic in high doses. Too much C will cause bowel movement. Vit D is also toxic in high doses.

Sorry i don't have tosic dosage amounts at hand.

All of the water soluable vitamins are hard to overdo on. I know a lot of people go by the minamin set by the USDA. Those amounts are what it takes you to keep from dieing. To stay well takes more. I know I take a minimum of 2500mg of vit C everyday, which is servel thousand times more than recomended daily. Now I take this at four sepearate times not all at once. If I am fighting a cold I will take 500mg every two hours with no problems.

As far as dose on Vitamins in general I might suggest you find a Good Health food store (not GNC) and ask them on recomendations.

Exclamation

You most certainly can overdose (and die) from too much vitamins/minerals. Get a good book and do some research before you take anything else!
