Has anyone heard of anything good or bad about men having too much zinc vitamin?

It would not be wise to take excess zinc as it suppresses copper and calcium absorption. Copper is necessary for hemoglobin formation in red blood cells, enzymes and collagen (connective tissue). This would be true for both men and women. I did a good web search and found nothing specific regarding men and excess zinc. No info good bad or otherwise regarding men/excess zinc.

I read a case of someone taking excessive dosages of zinc for a period of months and developing an immune system problem, which went away within weeks of discontinuing.

Too much zinc suppresses the immune system.

I'm 56 year old and take 60 mg of zinc daily. 30 mg of this is in a multiple vitamin that also contain copper and calcium, the other 30mg of zinc is in ZMA. I been doing this over a year now and have not been sick any. I guess my imune system is pretty good. I said ever day but I do miss a couple days a week taking 60mg of zinc. I have read that a man could take up to 90mg of zinc a day and not be at risk of the copper and calcium absorption problem. I could back off and get a multiple vitamin that contains only 15 mg of zinc, so my total then would be 45mg of zinc. Hey, I beleive in the ZMA, ant quiting that stuff. What you think? is 60 too much or should I back off the 45 mg of zinc?
