Re: Any advice on Periodontal Disease?

Have you been to your dentist for this? What they usually do is deep cleaning under the gumline first (sounds painful but they numb you, you don't feel a thing....really) and afterwards more frequent cleanings, possibly every 4 months instead of 6. You really don't want to let this go as not only could an advanced case possibly lead to oral cancer later on, you will probably eventually lose your teeth. There's really nothing you can do yourself to get rid of it, but once you're on a schedule with your dentist, simple flossing and brushing will help along with your dental cleanings.

Frequent brushing (with a soft toothbrush) using a toothpaste that has clove and tea tree oil in it, as well as follow up with a mouthwash that has tea tree oil. Flossing, of course.

Co-Q 10 (chewable, emulsified form) - very important
Vitamin C

Re: Any advice on Periodontal Disease?

I have periodontal disease. Have had the deep cleaning and go to the dentist every three months for regular cleanings. Have been doing this for 7 years now. I started taking potassium for leg cramps about a year ago but noticed that my gums are healthier. No infections for about 10 months now. No bleeding when I floss. I really believe the potassium has helped. You may want to try it. I take one a day with lunch. Not sure the miligram because I'm at work right now. Good luck!

Hello, Add baking soda to your toothpaste when you brush your teeth to help kill bacteria. It stings a little, but you have to keep your teeth as clean as you can. Also, no sticky food or candy. Be sure to schedule regualar scalings with your periodontist and have him put a floride seal on the teeth like they do to kids.
