| Re: Anyone have any info on glutathione?
Glutathione is not taken up by cells in its intact form. It has to be broken down into it's component amino acids, taken up by cells and then resynthesized. So in it's raw form, glutathione would be an expensive source of aminos that you could get by eating more protein.
S-acetylglutathione (glutathione with an acetyl group hooked onto it) is taken up by cells, directly ,and has been studied as a supplement in AIDS patients. So it's possible that that particular form could be of some use.
