Re: 5htp and l- tyrosine

you really should ask a doctor about that one. i was a xanax user and i don't need it now with my amino acid l-theanine. i am glad you are looking into this! good luck!

Is there a reason that you are considering it? There is a contraindication as 5htp converts to seratonin and you are also taking a seratonin reuptake inhibitor, giving your system very little say in its own feedback measures.

Re: 5htp and l- tyrosine

Well I use to take 5htp and L-Tyrosine and now I got Klonopin. Klonopin helps the most, but I was just wondering if I could take either of the other two with it, or if I should just stop taking those and take a higher dose of Klonopin if i need to?

Re: 5htp and l- tyrosine

your doctor should help you determine your Klonopin dosing. I don't think that using 5-HTP or l-tyrosine are necessary, or even beneficial. I'd assume that your doctor would forbid it (but i don't listen to doctors anyways). If Klonopin isn't working for you, I think you should try using a different medication. Most people go through quite a few SSRI's before they find one that works for them.

Re: 5htp and l- tyrosine

Well Klonopin helped me alot at the lowest dose just .5mgs. However my anxiety symptoms are still just as bad as before, so I think that i may need a higher dose, or to switch meds that will have an effect on anxiety symptoms, but i havent found anything yet that helps to well with anxiety symptoms. Maybe ill call my doctor and get a higher dose of Klonopin to see if it will help with anxiety symptoms at higher doses. I get great anxiety with eye contact, I sweat and blush and crap like that, these are all my anxiety symptoms that I am looking to eliminate.
