What Vitamins will help the skin?

Hi there, I am a 32 year old female and have developed a skin problem about 3 years ago. (Never had it before) My face breaks out in small blemishes that are red, it is itchy and very rough and dry feeling at the same time. I have been to numerous dermatologists and none of them can fix my problem. I've tired various creams, cleansers, prescriptions etc...

I have given up on all that and am thinking maybe some vitamins may help my problem? Does anyone know of any good ones?

I've heard vitamin E is good for the skin but I have also heard it can make yu break out.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Jean

Re: What Vitamins will help the skin?

tresting the problem from within will always work better long term than any lotion. take 25,000 i.u. of vit A once a day 6 days a week and have a break on the seventh day. then start it all over again. this high amount will help you out but the rest day will ensure you don't overload on the vit long term. vit E is good too .build up gradually to 400 i.u. twice a day (start at 100 i.u. for a few eeks, then 200 i.u. for a few weeks etc til 400i.u.- this is important to prevent any disruptions in blood pressure). a B-50 twice day. omega three source 1000mg three times day (flax seed oil or EPA fish oil). 30mg of zinc twice a day. 500mg of vit C twice a day. buy a juicer and juice your own raw juice. carrot mixed with other veg is best. beta-carotene is converted from the carrots (and other veg) into vit A, and the anti-oxidants will purify the skin and detox organs such as the liver which tend to chuck gunk out of the system onto the skin when detoxing. possibly consult an aromatherapist to have the condition treated topically with diluted essential oils. get fresh air and exercise as much as possible. drink lots and lots of water for purer skin. avoid caffeine, refined food, saturated fat, and alcohol, fried food. all these foods will agrevate any skin condition. hope all this helps.

Re: What Vitamins will help the skin?

Jeanster,
Be very careful with high dose Vitamin A, long term. This is a fat soluble
vitamin that is stored in the body (fat tissue and liver). High doses can
become toxic! Good advice as far as Omega 3 fatty acids. I'd suggest
eating Salmon cooked in olive oil 3 times per week and start drinking green tea daily. Lower your salt intake and MOST important, get off all refined
sugar. This will create amazing results. Hope that helps...

as long as you have the break of one day a week (do not take any vit A supplement at all on this day) then you will not have any trouble in regards to toxicity. this is widely accepted as safe practice. i only repeat the words of Earl Mindell in his book The Vitamin Bible. if you take the vit A in the form of cod liver oil capsules (these contain vit D) too then the body cannot overdose at all on natural forms of vitamin A or D found in cod liver oil. toxicity only occurs form supplementation of synthetic forms of these two vitamins.

Re: What Vitamins will help the skin?

Ratboy,

I heard that vitamin E can aggravate your skin since it is an oil and that there is a dry form of vitamin E. I havn't been able to find this form but I have the vitamin bible too and in it it says it is better to take the dry form.
Any thoughts on this.

Jeanster
