Nerve repair

I have some minor nerve damage from a dental procedure (or from the injection).I am taking B vitamins and magnesium. Are there any other supplements, herbs or homeopathic that help nerves to heal? It seems to be a slow process that heals in waves--comes and goes. Thanks.

Re: Nerve repair

rom what I know the B Vitamins will help you the most..... I think you are on the right track.... Make sure you are getting plenty off all the necessary vitamins and are on a good diet.

As an FYI - below are the ingredients of a Nerve Repair Supplement that is sold commercially - might give you some ideas on "essentials"......

Amount Per Serving % Daily Value
Vitamin A (as palmitate) 1000 IU 20%
Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) 50 mg 83%
Vitamin E (as d-alpha tocopheryl succinate) 25 IU 83%
Thiamin (as thiamin HCL) 20 mg 1333%
Riboflavin 5 mg 294%
Niacin (as Niacinamide) 25 mg 125%
Vitamin B-6 (as pyridoxine HCL) 10 mg 500%
Vitamin B-12 (as methylcobalamin) 1000 mcg 16,667%
Biotin (as d-biotin) 1000 mcg 333%
Folate (as folic acid) 400 mcg 100%
Magnesium (as magnesium glycinate) 10 mg 3%
Zinc (as zinc amino acid chelate) 10 mg 67%
Copper (as copper citrate) 250 mcg 13%

Nerve Preserve proprietary blend
Acetyl L-Carnitine, Horse Chestnut extract, Colostrum, L-Taurine, Butchers Broom Root, Alpha Lipoic Acid (as inositol hexaniacinate), Betaine HCL, Quercetin.

Re: Nerve repair

Methylcobalamin (one of the body's usable types of B12) is used by nerves. Studies have shown that "ultra" high dose can regenerate nerves (but probably cost prohibitive when dosing on your own, orally). You can get 1000 mcg and 5000 mcg sublingual pills of methylcobalamin from a health food store or online.

Re: Nerve repair

Vitamin E taken orally helps a lot with body repair. Just 1 a day can help a lot, and even if not needed for nerve repair, it will help your skin and stuff.

Re: Nerve repair

there are several herbs that are nerve tonics. the two that come to mind are st john's wort and valerian. they both speed healing of the nervous system.

Edar....Nothing on earth as of yet will help your Nerves grow fast or we could cure Spinal Cord Paralysis, Als, Parkinsons, Alzheimers etc...But methylcobalamin does have lots of studies showing it helps to stimulate Myelin Repair. There's lots of reference studies at the ''Life Extension Foundation.''
