I just discovered a site, sponsored by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (with a disclaimer), that includes info on a number of "herbs, botanicals and other products". It appears to be all-inclusive; i.e., not confined to supplements specifically geared toward cancer prevention or treatment:

I'm always looking for reliable info on herbal stuffs, as opposed to the promotional literature by people who claim that their wonder product will cure everything. This looks like a good site.

Thanks for your feedback, Rheanna. I wholeheartedly agree with you that the credibility of many claims being made about herbal and other supplements is questionable, at best.

The info on the two entries I checked out (in Sloan-Kettering website), St. John's Wort and Omega-3, were excellent. I particularly appreciate the long list of contraindications for St. Johns Wort. You won't read on the promotional literature of the products themselves that St. John's Wort significantly affects many other medications. Thanks again for the tip.

Have you found the site to be really slow to respond and even losing contact sometimes when you try to change pages? I haven't tried other sections of the website yet , but maybe they can separate their alphabet list onto several pages -- I don't know if their server just can't handle that much data on one page or if it's something else. But when I have more time I'm going to send them an email praising their data, but asking for a better delivery.
