symptoms from vitamin D deficiency

Does anyone know what the symptoms of vit. D deficiency are? My doc called yesterday and said my level was a 12 when it should be closer to 40! I have thyroid problems, and a bunch of other things that are problematic. I just wondered if the D defiency could be causing these other things. Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: symptoms from vitamin D deficiency

shonks5,

One source, the cholecalciferol council, says that vitamin D deficiency plays a part in several diseases: osteoporosis, cancer, heart disease, hyperparathyroidism, hypertension, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, myopathy, depression, or chronic pain.
