free form amino acids

i'm currently taking 5-HTP and L-tyrosine to help correct the deficiencies in serotonin and noradrenaline/ dopamine i have with my depression. i take them in the same mouthful on an empty stomach with a raw vegetable juice about 30 minutes before breakfast. i know that these two amino acids compete to pass over the blood brain barrier, so would it be more effective to take them slightly away from each other- say leave a 15 mins gap between them? would i get more out of the supplements this way or is it just as effective to take them both at the same time?

If your taking aminos for specific health reasons and not for general protein pool consumption always separate them. When i work out in the mornings i'll take Tyrosine and Glutamine but i always separate them 30 min apart or they'll interact and possibly change the desired out come. Look at Creatine its made up of Arginine, Glycine, and Methionine as individuals these do different things but combined they now for a new protein i.e. Creatine.....

I take L-Tyrosine for a boost in my workouts. Muscle Media magazine used to have a lot of research about L-Tyrosine a neurotransmitter in helping in pumping iron.

From my personal opinion does it work ...i'm not sure as when i take it (1000mg) sometimes my power levels are great and other times i notice nothing so i just cycle it now. Actually i like Green Tea Extract to give me more of a boost at 4.45 a.m. when i head to the gym. Later ....
