I have acne prone skin and will follow a vitamin program. The problem is that I dont know how much i should take and how to get a good balance with 3-6-9.
I have read some threads here and its written that to much of ex. omega 3 can disturb omega 6 or whatever and get it worse.
Whats your recommendation to take? Here is what I thought to take:
MultiOmega
Borage Oil 400mg
Fish Oil 400mg
Flax Oil 400mg
2 caps / day and:
Evening Primrose Oil 1300mg 1 cap / day
Flaxseed Oil 1000mg 1 cap / day.
How do you think? Is this a good balance of omega 3-6-9? Do I need to take higher dosage if im suffering of acne?
Not sure where the omega-9's are in your supplements but they are usually found in olive oil and avacados (monounsaturated fats). Now for acne...your producing bad ''prostaglandins'' so lets get these in order by uping your Fish Oils. I'd take 3 softgels twice a day with a vit-E softgel. Also cut out/down most grain foods as these have lots of omega-6's that are proinflammatory. And forget about omega-9's as these have nothing to do with acne help........

hmm ya well ok. It says on the supplement fact that between 12-18 percent contains Omega 9.
3 softgels of what? Fish Oil? And what would you recommend to take the other ones, evening primrose and flaxseed?

M4x....There is a product called 3-6-9 (now products) if you want that balance in a supplemental form. Buts heres what i'd do if i were ypu...I'd take 3 Fish Oil softgels (omega-3) with 3 Evening Primrose Oil softgels (omega-6) twice a day with meals along with an Vit-E so they do not oxidize...And cut out grains i.e. breads and cereals) also products with Transfats and High Fructose Corn Syrup.These things will clamp down on Bad Prostaglandins (proinflammatory) and help on your Acne. Lastly if you take a product that has omega-9's (olive oil) thats o.k. as they're good for heart health but they have no effect on Prostaglandins (eisosonoids)

That will resulting a balance of 3:6:9 --> 6(caps)* OMEGA3 | 3(caps)*OMEGA6 | 2(caps)*OMEGA9 --> 18:18:18 --> 1:1:1?
Is this a correct calculate?
If it is, wouldn't your recommendation of taking OMEGA6 caps to hight towards OMEGA3?

I think i see where your going here....18/18/18 has nothing to do with proper balance.I'll try to explain this but its very complicated....The 3/6/9 are just the spot on the fatty acid chain where the double bounds are located...This has nothing to do with omega-3 x6=18 and omega-6 x3=18 etc....Only the omega-3's and 6's are Essential and not omega-9's.Omega-6's (linoleic acid) is needed for antiinflammation (GLA) but at high levels this then converts in the body as Arachidonic Acid (powerful pro inflammatory) so only a little omega-6's are needed where as omega-3's (alpha linonenic acid) at high amounts are converted to DHA and EPA very powerful Antiinflammatory's. So normal (non diseased) people can have them at a even balance but those who are ill or sick then should consume higher omega-3's and less omega-6's for optimal health. Your body can make omega-9's from Saturated fat (non essential fat).Hope that helps ...if not then someone else can have at it....later dude !!!!!

Thanks for great information, I more clear for me now. In what doses are we talking about to get these super converts?
What I understood now is that we still need more omega 3 than 6. Means that about 2X omega 3 would be a good daily intake with 1X omega 6? + the 2X MultiMega to get higher balanced 3-6-9 in the body to get these converts?
Sorry for my questions, just need to know how much of these to order!
