Wheatgrass, Vitamin K, Clotting

Perhaps I'm being a bit of a worrywort but I've recently decided to Wheatgrass a try for issues of energy and general health. In doing my research on it, as I do for everything, I found that it has quite a high amount of Vitamin K which is key in blood clotting. I had a DVT in my leg in April 2004 and thankfully not one since, though, over 2 years later, I am still dealing with the results. Anyway does anyone know if taking Wheatgrass can lead to a higher potential for a recurrence of a DVT? Thanks a lot

Re: Wheatgrass, Vitamin K, Clotting

Dakota.....I think vitamin-K from wheatgrass is natural and safer than taking it in supplements. Although vit-K is fat soluble its not stored well in the body so overdosing is hard to do. It also is one of the best supplements of keeping Calcium clotting out of the arteries....so enjoy your Wheatgrass.....

For your DVT some good supplements with doctor's permission if on blood thinners are Fish oils, Mixed Tocotrienols/tocopherols,Pycnogenol,Gingko Biloba and Horse Chestnut...
