Question Ever heard of Neuro-PS??

I have been suffering from memory loss lately, I suppose cause I'm getting older (43), but last time I went shopping online for my vitamins I bought Puritans Pride Neuro-PS. It is Phosphatidylserine 100 mg. (derived from Soy Lecithin) The doseage is three softgels per day.

I haven't started taking these yet...(I forgot..HA HA HA HA )...I'm always nervous to add another drug to my already loaded vitamin/prescription ritual.

Does anyone know if this stuff is legit? Does it really cause your memory to get better?

Thanks!

Does it cause your memory to get better.... well know one knows for sure as i don't think there's been clinical trials on it to prove one way or the other.

Phosphatidyl-Serine is not a drug but an amino acid (serine) bound to a fat (phosphatidyl) from soy (usually monounsaturated) and together this PS has the ability to work on Neuron Membranes to enhance them so in theory it could help for memory problems or Parkinsons,Alzheimers,Multiple Sclerosis etc..but again not proven...

Re: Ever heard of Neuro-PS??

Be carefull of anything soy related.
I read a report several years ago about soy users reporting brain fuzzyness.

Also, do a ****** search of soy and parkinsons and also alzheimers. You will be very surprised. New data is comming out.

Also, much chinese soy protien is imported. Some by the same companies associated with the melamine scrap poisonings that are currently in the news.

Soy can and does affect the nervous system!

Re: Ever heard of Neuro-PS??

Dianegirl,

Are you on any rx drugs? There are many medications with adverse effects potentially resulting in short term memory loss or impairment. Some meds affect brain cells directly. Insufficient levels of certain substances and enzymes will affect the brain cells also.
You would notice an immediate or gradual improvement in memory if such a drug were discontinued.
