| Re: Where to get good but affordable supplements....???
The price difference is huge!
Last year when researched the market I had to make a database
in the spreadsheet so I can analyze the costs.
I also subscribed to a place that does supplement testing and
what I saw tested was pretty good. They tested some known
brands and some obscure brands and for the most part, everything
isn't too bad. If a product failed most likely the measured dose
per pill was exactly as advertised but the good news is that there
wasn't any 'scam' pills. In the general sense, I bet that most of
these supplements come from certain factories and just get
rebranded.
Example. A friend at work was buying some <removed> fish oil for $60 a bottle with 120 capsules, this was a
higher grade of fish oil. I found the same thing under a different
label for $12.50. So far this is the best deal I can find for high
quality oil.
On the other hand, if I want to reduce the cost even more, perhaps
1/2 the cost of the above product, I would have to buy the standard fish oil from the 'big wholesaler' like Costco's brand.
They sell a big bottle with IIRC, 400 pills for $9.
I take four high quality fish oils [~4 grams], to get about the
active ingridients using the standard oils, I would need to consume
about 8 grams. Even if I double the dose, the cost is still cheaper.
The final question was. Can I tolerage 8 grams of oil daily? I determined that I would rather pay more and take less so I'm using
the high quality oil.
I don't buy all my supplements from one manufacturer or distributor, whomever has the best deal is what gets my dollar.
<removed> Do a thorough search, the price differences are huge for the same ingridients.

Reason: do not discuss online purchasing
